New special research area studies protein degradation

09/12/2019

The Austrian Science Fund has awarded a special research program (SFB) grant to a team of scientists around Sascha Martens. The research interest of the consortium is largely overylapping with one of the researcha reas of the doctoral program and we are delighted to see the efforts in proteostasis research valued. The SFB will mechanistically address the question of how targeted degradation of proteins contributes to health and disease and we congratulate on this achievement. Find more info on their webpage.

Since the coordination of a special research programme and a doctoral program are mutually exclusive, Sascha handed over his role as deputy speaker of the doctoral program to our colleague Gijs Versteeg.
