Thesis Advisory Committee

This is basically your personal scientific advisory board. The TAC members will monitor your progress and development and will provide advice and support to both you and your supervisor. Within the first 6 months, you will assemble a TAC and organize your first meeting. Your TAC consists of 3-4 scientists including

  • Your supervisor
  • A SMICH faculty member
  • 1-2 PIs from all over the world chosen on the basis of the needs of your project

The TAC will meet once a year (or upon your request even more often) to discuss your progress and future plans. Each meeting will be documented using the forms below, which will be signed by all TAC members. Please upload the Vienna BioCenter forms to the STREP system and deposit University-specific forms with your program manager, who will file them with the Universities.

Forms

  • First TAC meeting
  • Vienna BioCenter: Thesis Proposal & Development Plan (upload to the STREP system two weeks before the first TAC meeting)
  • Vienna BioCenter: First TAC Meeting Report form (upload to the STREP system, to be filled by TAC Chair during the meeting)
  • Vienna BioCenter: Confidentiality Agreement - Confidentiality agreement only for TAC members outside the Vienna BioCenter (upload to the STREP system)
  • For the approval of the thesis project also hand in the respective forms (University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna) to your program manager.
  • Yearly TAC meeting
  • Vienna BioCenter: Template Progress Report & CDP (upload to the STREP system two weeks before the first TAC meeting)
  • Vienna BioCenter: Annual TAC Meeting Report form (upload to the STREP system, to be filled by TAC Chair during the meeting)
  • Annual Progress Report (for University of Vienna students, deposit with your program manager)
  • Progress report meeting of the doctoral thesis committee (for Medical University students, deposit with your program manager)
